"Changing the future... one session at a time!"
WHO COMES TO THE SWINDON
TUITION CENTRE?
Anyone aged between 5 and 19. Our sessions are for anyone at school or college. Teach to make pupils more brilliant; help those that are struggling with confidence or other and those with specific needs i.e. dyslexia, ASD.
WHERE ARE THE LESSONS TAUGHT?
At our dedicated and secure learning centre in Swindon. We are a growing business and also have another tuition centre in Swindon, one in Cirencester and one in Bristol. The advantage of having a HQ is that all of our resources (computers, revision guides, etc.) are to hand for our tutors. Also, no distractions from Ipads, Xboxes or Snapchat!
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS LAST?
We believe that the optimum time for learning is 60 minutes. Once greeted, settled; homework marked and new targets set. With good quality explanation and practice answering various concepts or activities for skill development, each session finishing with feedback for parents and (a little) homwork. We think that any less time is a rush, we don't like rushing!
WILL MY CHILD HAVE A DESIGNATED TUTOR?
The tutor-student relationship is absolutely crucial for effective learning. We match tutors with learners based on character, rather than calendar. The tutor will remain with the tutee until the end of their career with us.

WHAT SUBJECTS DO WE COVER?
Whilst we specialise in teaching English, Maths and Science, we also cover a range of other GCSE, A-Level and BTEC subjects. We teach phonics, numeracy and literacy, spellings, grammar, SATs, 11+, common entrance exams. Etc, etc. Best to just ask!
ARE THE TUTORS QUALIFIED TEACHERS?
All of our tutors are equipped and experienced to deliver the education that we provide, it’s far more important to us that our tutors demonstrate a deep understanding of the subject and syllabus and that they are exciting and engaging for our learners.
WILL I RECEIVE A REPORT?
We give instant feedback after every session so you know exactly how your child is progressing at all times. In addition, we will give you periodic assessment data for you to show progression.
ARE OUR TUTORS DBS CHECKED?
Yes. Absolutely yes!
All tutors carry enhanced DBS checks, have completed a minimum of Level 1 Safeguarding Course and have been verified to have the right to work in the UK as part of our safer recruitment policy.
HOW MUCH DO LESSONS COST?
We charge £120 per month for one session per week term time only. We take this payment securely using our Direct Debit system (GoCardless) on the 1st of the month in advance of sessions taking place.
WHAT DOES SAFEGUARDING MEAN TO US?
Swindon Tuition Centre is fully committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our children in the centre.

DO WE
CARRY OUT ASSESSMENTS?
Our tutors carry out assessments during the first session with their learners. This gives them an opportunity to assess working levels and learning styles in order to build a personal progress plan. This process is informal and is certainly not a test. We treat it as part of the ‘getting to know you’ process.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD MISSES A SESSION?
If your child misses a session that they had scheduled with us, we still ask for payment. This is because we have already paid your tutor. Don’t worry though, as long as you let us know more than 48 hours beforehand, we’ll arrange a free catch-up session at a time that suits everyone. It may not be with the same tutor, but it will be to the same high standard.
HOW DOES 2:1 TUITION WORK?
Two-to-one tuition is the most effective way of learning. Firstly, it allows learners to develop the independent working skills they need for future success. Secondly, it takes away some of the pressure off the learner that can build up in a one-to-one situation. Thirdly, it makes our sessions that little bit more fun!
AM I TIED INTO A CONTRACT?
Definitely not. We’re confident enough in our abilities not to have to tie people into a contract. If your circumstances change, you are free to leave with minimum fuss. We’re positive you won’t, though!
WHEN DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
We run sessions throughout the week. Monday to Friday evenings and also a few at weekends.
